About Us

Yakima Aerosport is the brain child of Todd Braman and Mike Butterfield, each of whom holds A&P/IA certifications. Mike is our flight instructor and specializes in safe fun flying in tailwheel type aircraft. Our operation has been based at the Yakima Airport (McAllister Field) for many years. We’ve rebuilt numerous aircraft including Super Cubs, Widgeons, Cessnas and more. Recently we’ve built the Super 18 Turbo Cub and the Super Breezy, both of which are exclusive to Yakima Aerosport. We also specialize in fun, affordable flying and offer instruction in tailwheel aircraft.

In February 2006, we expanded our operation into two new side-by-side hangars at the eastern side of McAllister Field. This has afforded us the convenience of a maintenance hangar next door to our assembly hangar, both of which are about 1000-feet away from Cub Crafters and allows us to offer the skills and parts to repair and modify most types of aircraft with minimal downtime. And since the Yakima Airport is literally in our backyard, we’re able test-fly any aircraft that we work on and you’re able to fly your aircraft directly to us for any work you’d like us to perform.

Yakima Aerosport has formed close partnerships with several companies that are influential in the Super Cub community. We take great pride in associating ourselves with them and their products, and would like all of our customers to know that the service you receive at any of these establishments will be extended to the service you get from us.
